The Hidden Gem

My first trip to Costa Rica was in Puerto Viejo, Talamanca and I fell in love with the area. I’ve been to Mexico, Italy, and all over the US and never felt so at home here.

(Be aware that most likely you will be flying into San Jose (SJO), When making airline reservations, please use SJO and not San Jose, as you may pick the wrong San Jose and wind up in California. There are also two Puerto Viejo’s in Costa Rica. If you are staying with us, it is Puerto Viejo, Talamanca that you will be in).

This little Caribbean town is quaint and eclectic. You will meet people from all over the world here, many that are now permanent residents. Food choices range from burgers and fries, Asian fusion, Italian, and local cuisine. I have not had a bad meal here yet.

You will definitely want to visit the Jaguar Rescue during your stay. This is a wildlife refuge for indiginous species that weren’t able to survive in the jungle due to injury. Here they are rehabilitated and given a new lease on life is they decide to go back to the jungle.

If partying is your thing, there is no shortage of bars here either. Things seem to get rockin’ nightly around 9pm. So walk downtown, have dinner, shop the street vendors for some cool gifts to take home, then hit the bars! Why not….your are on vacation!

Casa Fiesta can help you with transportation to and from the airport and with any tours listed on our website, http://casafiestacostarica.com.
