Hotel El Bosque (i.e. “The Forest”) is a simple family hotel nestled in a beautiful private forest (23 acres…).

We’re a small hotel, led by two Costa Ricans; a Monteverde local (Liz -my wife) and myself -a city guy (Daniel).

 

Our story:

We had our little one (Camila) back in 2011 and we realized how much we wanted her to grow along with nature.

So we thought about moving to Monteverde (where Liz grew up and lived most of her life) but we did not know what to do for a living.

I have a full-time job with an international corporation and I work from home, but Liz was working on-site so we needed to figure out a way…

We thought about opening a coffee shop that Liz would run and I would help with during the weekends…

But one day… we learned that our best friend’s grandparents (who had the hotel for 20 years) wanted to rent the hotel to finally retire.

Two weeks later, we were signing a contract for 8 years and we’ve been here ever since 🙂

 

We simply love it here…

So different from what we had back in the city…

So beautiful… So quiet… So peaceful… So big… Exactly what we wanted for Camila 😉

 

Now we want to share this beautiful forest with as many folks as possible.

Our goal is to show them that it is fundamentally required for mankind to surround himself with nature.
