El Sueño Tropical

Located at the edge of the jungle, but easily accessed, with paved road to our door, El Sueño Tropical is an intimate 16 unit resort set in 3 acres of lush tropical gardens. There are 4 buildings that house 4 units per building. There are 8 large double rooms, 4 larger deluxe rooms that sleep 4 and have kitchenettes, and 4 two bedrooms apartments with full kitchens that sleep up to 5.  All  have coffeemaker, cold split system A/C and ceiling fans, brand new SMART TVs, private baths with unlimited hot water and wall safes.  All have front porches with tables, chairs and a hammock. There is high-speed real 5 megs up and down WiFi with many routers for service throughout the property. There is a large free-form Italian-tiled pool for adults with a small wading pool for the small kids, lounge chairs and three gazebos with tables and chairs for relaxing and pool-side dining.

Enjoy EL SUENO Restaurant and bar located on site with lots of cold beers and tropical drinks to enjoy.  Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our menu includes typical Costa Rica cuisine, international classics and fusion dishes creatively prepared from fresh local ingredients — seasonal exotic fruits and farm-to-table vegetables, freshly caught seafood, grass-raised beef, and local pork, lamb and poultry.

Playa Carrillo, 2 minutes away, is a sheltered, tranquil, and pristine beach great for a relaxing swim. Playa Samara is next, just 7 minutes away, and 10 minutes away is a killer surf break — Playa Camaronal. Incredible Pacific sunsets. 10 minutes from the resort is the town of Samara. Great nightlife, shopping, and restaurants.

Lots of fun things to do in the area — snorkeling, surfing, StandUP surfing, boogie boarding, kayaking, horseback riding, sport-fishing, bird watching, canopy tours, bicycling, ATVS, you name it.  Just south of us, across the Ora river, is Camaronal Turtle Refuge, a pristine beach, where Green, Hawkbill and Ridley turtles deposit their eggs and babies are born all year long, what a sight that is, you’ll never forget it. Many veteran surfers have had waves there they will ride in their minds forever.  Local surfers have kept this a secret for a long time, but determined and adventurous surfers from all over the world have made their way there, worth the trip. Full moons are best, they say.

But you may not want to go anywhere or do anything, just lie on a deck chair by the pool, send for a piña colada or a margarita, and read that book or maybe  it’s time for a siesta in your own personal hammock.

Happy hour starts as the sun sets glowing its colors through the Malinche tree, as parrots squawk their thoughts to each other.
