We are pretty sure God must be missing a place to stay up in heaven: Las Cascadas was a divine hotel. We are both 'depressed' we ever had to leave there...
The condotel is located just outside Quepos center, which gives you a double advantage: you are close enough (ten minutes walk) to the town center (with good restaurants and a cheap and short bus connection to Manuel Antonio) and still you are away from all the noise which comes with city life and busy roads. We stayed in a beautiful room, which was developed with style and care: it gave the room and the hotel a very personal air. Although it was the ‘smallest room’ Las Cascadas offered, it was bigger than most of the rooms we stayed in during our trip in Costa Rica (three weeks and a half). Everything else what you expect from a room was present too: it couldn’t be better organized...
As for the rest, we are running out of superlatives: the pool was simply superb… It was big, had an very nice temperature (for a very early or very late dip), had a lot of relaxing seats next to it and a nice waterfall. The view from the pool was absolutely amazing: on the one hand you could see the sea and on the other hand you could see wildlife (monkeys passing by every couple of days, a variety of birds living on the grounds of the hotel or passing by).
Location and buildings isn’t everything which was excellent in this hotel. Both the hotel manager and his wife (plus kids) were very helpful friendly people. Everything we asked for we got (they phoned for our bus, arranged our tour, confirmed our flight, …) and we had very nice conversations with both of them. They make the stay even more enjoyable.
The prices are for what you get absolutely moderate. I guess you don’t pay more than a stay in a impersonal hotel or a hotel on a busy road…
In sum: if you are looking for a quiet, personal and excellent hotel, look no further. Just contact Gary and book your stay… You absolutely won’t regret it.
Pura Vida!

We had an excellent stay w/ Gary & Catalina... they are hard working people who really go out of their way to make sure you have a great time in the area. We liked being able to walk to Quepos while being outside the bustle of the city, plus the sounds of the waterfall right outside our window was so peaceful, it was a perfect spot for just catching up on some R&R. Having a well appointed kitchen made our stay even more economical, though it was tempting to try the many good restaurants so close...

My wife and I came to Las Cascadas after looking at reviews on TripAdivsor. Gary replied quickly to my email inquiry and was very helpful. I was able to call a toll free number from the US and confirm our reservations.
We absolutely loved our stay at Las Cascadas. We decided to come a day early, and by the next morning we decided to stay for a week. The rooms are gorgeous! We stayed in the master suite. It had beautiful marble tile floors, huge bay windows that wrapped around our room and gave us a great view of the forest and the ocean. Each room is hand crafted, with beautiful wood work, and a great value for the price. We could really tell that Gary and his family invested a lot of time and love in their hotel.
They have a great pool too! Completely tiled with Iguana stone statues and a waterfall that flows down into the pool. We loved hanging out at the pool, playing cards and enjoying the stocked refrigerator full of Fresca. Gary and his wife Catalina helped us book tours to go white water rafting, and zip-lining in the canopy, as well as recommending great restaurants and hidden beaches.
More than this, my wife and I were so impressed by Gary and Catalina's love, kindness and honesty. They really care about each other, their children and their guests. We would recommend Las Cascadas to anyone thinking about traveling to Manuel Antonio.
