He has a successful nature photography business and had previously taught photography at Antonelli Photography College in Cincinnati, Ohio for 3 years. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of New Mexico with an emphasis in Photography. Barry attends various workshops annually to keep his skill set sharp and to learn from other professional nature photographers. His photographic idol is Art Wolfe. He attended Art’s Creative Session seminar in early 2010 in Seattle, WA. Barry believes that continuing to educate himself is the key to becoming the best photographer that he can be.

My need to create was what led me to photography. My love of the outdoors and nature was what led me to Costa Rica. My passion for both things and wanting to share them with others is what led me to become a photography instructor.

I offer unique photography workshops because I like to push my gear to the edge of its capabilities and by making my own accessories. Some seemingly normal subjects can become fascinating images by using good lighting and creative compositions. By using tried and true photographic techniques as an initial point then by making personal creative adjustments I get my own interpretation of the subject.

I can give you the starting point and then work with you to find the techniques that best fit your shooting style. We will visit places that have amazing amounts of wildlife and scenic opportunities. We will work through compositions and show you how you can get the photograph you want.
