"Great new hotel at the quiet end of Playa Samara. Run very well by Rosie and her staff. Having looked around the area, I would say this is one of the best, if not the best. Our seven days there was extrordinary and would like to return."
"Samara Beach is a wonderful place and Hideway Hotel is great. Rosy is wonderful and speaks English and Spanish perfectly. She is American and has created the hotel to cater to US standards, so it is very nice, clean and the service is wonderful. She knows the country and region very well and was able to help us with your recreational activities. I highly recommend staying there, you'll have a great time."
"We have just returned from spending 7 days/nights at the Hideaway Hotel in Playa Samara. What a delightful boutique hotel with the most accommodating owner and staff. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice of hotel and believe that we found the best place to stay in Samara at an extremely reasonable price. We can't wait to go back."
"We stayed at the Hideaway Hotel for a week in February and were married on Samara beach during our stay. The Hideaway is lovely - the rooms are just as nice as they look in the pictures. They are large, new, clean and comfortable, with nice patios to enjoy morning coffee or an evening cerveza. We were often visited by the howler monkeys passing by through the trees behind our room, and there were a couple of parrots that often flew by as well. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the service is excellent."

What to do in Sámara? TURTLES, DOLPIN, FISHING, ZIPLINES, WOW!!!
If you are staying for three days
Upon arrival, enjoy the pool with a refreshing drink on our terrace or stroll to the beach which is just steps away from our front door. Also, you can relax with a game of cards, dominoes, and checkers all available through our front desk. While you are here, look for the howler monkeys which hang out in the trees around the hotel. Depending on the season, they may be eating mangoes or leaves. They are fun to watch and really give you the sense of being in the tropics.
1st day: After your arrival, you should use the first evening for a Turtle Tour to Camaronal or Ostional. By night on the beach, with a little bit of luck you’ll get to see the beautiful turtles! They come up to dig nests and lay their eggs by moonlight.
2nd day: If you want some exercise and adventure, take a Kayak Tour to the island “Isla Chora” that you can see from our beach. On the island you have time to relax on the white sand beach with some snacks, watch the huge iguanas and birds. If you’re not tired of being in the water yet, go snorkeling and you’ll get to see colorful fishes, corals and starfishes.
After lunch you can make a trip to Playa Carrillo. It’s one of the most beautiful beaches around. If you got sunburned in the morning, there are a lot of palms for shade in Carrillo. If you want to see crocodiles, walk to the end of the beach until you come to pass the bridge. You have to knock the metal of the bridge and if they are not too lazy, one might raise his head out of the river. But don’t feed them; the food can make them sick.
3rd day: For the third day, try a boat tour. Choose from fishing, dolphin watching
or snorkeling---or combine all three. You can also do a sunset boat tour. The waters around Samara are rich with marine life--- we’ve even seen whales & turtles.
For additional days you can add these options
4th day: Samara is only 2 hours from Santa Rosa National Park with 10 different natural habitats and an incredible variety of flora and fauna: 75 kinds of mammals, 260 species of birds, more than 2.000 kinds of butterflies ...... So it might take you one day to go there, but it’s worth it!
If you’re not afraid of heights, try the Wing Nuts Canopy Tour in Samara. Experience the tropical forest from the viewpoint of butterflies, monkeys, iguanas, birds, and the rest of the tree dwellers. Wing Nuts Canopy Tours offer excursions twice daily from Samara Beach (in the high season).
If you want to relax in the afternoon, take a shiatsu or relaxing massage with Fiorenzo in your hotel room or in Samara Massage Center. The school has special offers for a student massage. Or if you prefer some more activity, try Yoga classes offered daily from Monday to Thursday, given by local and international yoga practitioners. Just contact Intercultura Spanish School.
5th day: Make a trip to Rincon de la Vieja National Park with thermal mud pools, waterfall swimming areas and freshwater lakes. To get there it will take you about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Samara. A well-marked trail system through Rincon de la Vieja National Park leads visitors to the Park's attractions and between the Sector Stations.
6th day: Discover Other Beaches close to Sámara like Playa Barrigona, a hidden beach with white sand and wonderful white shells, Playa Camaronal and Playa Guiones for surf lovers, Playa Buenavista, a long deserted beach...
Or if you would like to try some surfing, take a surf lesson in one of the surf schools of Samara. If you already know how to surf, you can just rent a board and try it on your own!
7th day: For the seventh day, you could try a horseback ride to one of the beautiful waterfalls (from May-Nov.), or a tour of the mountains for a great view. Or take a walk through Samara; there are some places to buy souvenirs, relax with a soft drink, or enjoy an ice cream. Relax.
